Rules

Groups

  • Group A: 2200+ FIDE rating, title norm opportunities. Fees: free for 2600+/GM, €40 (2500-2599/IM/WGM), €60 (2400-2499), €80 (2300-2399), €100 (2200-2299). Prizes: €11,000 for 1st down to €2,000 for 10th, plus rating/gender/junior/senior special prizes.
  • Group B: under 2300 FIDE rating. Fees: €50 (2100-2299), €60 (2000-2099), €70 (under 1999). Prizes: €1,000 for 1st down to €150 for 10th, plus special prizes.

Playing system

9-round Swiss in two groups. Marks the 100th anniversary of the Nagykanizsa Chess Club and serves as the 2026 Hungarian Individual Championship title event.

Classical time control: 40 moves in 90 minutes, then 30 minutes to finish, plus a 30-second increment per move from move 1.

August 15-23, 2026. Round 1: Aug 15, 15:00 (registration 10:00-13:00, opening ceremony 14:00). Rounds 2-8: Aug 16-22, 15:00 daily. Round 9: Aug 23, 10:00, closing ceremony 16:00.
